It is with pleasure to note that the year of 2017 was full of success for Mongolian capital market and for the Mongolian Stock Exchange. First time in its 26 years of history, the annual turnover reached MNT859.2 billion marking 57.2 percent rise compared to the previous 2015 record. Market benchmark TOP-20 index rose by 68.9 percent while market capitalization grew by 67.4 percent reaching MNT2.4 trillion, recording the highest among those in the last five years.

New instruments were issued successfully in the market, including ‘Suu’ JSC’s ‘Suu bond’ offering worth MNT6.0 billion, the biggest corporate bond offering to date and the ‘ITools’ JSC, the first ever IT company listed on the MSE, being oversubscribed 3 times /receiving orders worth MNT3.9 billion/ during its IPO.

The regulations on dual-listing on the domestic capital market, named the ‘Regulations on listing the overseas listed entity in Mongolia and the listing of domestic listed entities on foreign exchanges’ that has been drafted by the a Joint Working Group between the Mongolian Stock Exchange and the Financial Regulatory Commission has been approved, paving the way to dual-listings on Mongolian capital market.

As part of the public education campaign, ‘Green arrow’ capital markets reality show that has been created and broadcasted nationwide in cooperation with the Mongolian National Radio and Television Channel /MNB/ receives positive appraisals from the viewers attracting interests in the capital market from the public. 

In the coming year 2018, our company aims to validate the success of the previous year while striving to achieve more strategic goals such as listing the first ever foreign listed company on the Mongolian Stock Exchange, continuing with the capital markets infrastructure reform in cooperation with relevant professional organizations to re-introduce T+2 settlement cycle adopting international settlement standards and directing efforts to creating more transparent, orderly and efficient market for investors and issuers alike.
